A justification for volunteering
The Foundation for Volunteering in Spain launched an initiative called “Theatre means Change” with the goal of promoting volunteering as a vehicle for social change on a local and international level. One of the three European voluntary hosting initiatives that has theatre as a weapon for social change at its centre is this project. Volunteers will “shadow” or assist experts in the fields of project management, stage direction, and stage facilitation. Students will take part in a thorough training course on theatrical facilitation with children. After spending some time watching, they will be able to lead their own workshops and live performances. They will then collaborate with young people to lead the workshops in pairs while being closely watched and encouraged.

While volunteering, I’m training.
Throughout their stay, volunteers will receive ongoing training. We will begin with an introduction to theatre facilitation, an intense session that will teach you all you need to know about leading groups of young people in theatre. Each week, we will conduct a “skill exchange” session in which one of the volunteers will conduct a workshop and teach the other participants a unique talent. There will be cutting-edge theatre and “Spanish classes” every week.
