Job Summary and Qualifications
Hospice Aide
Working under the direction of a registered nurse, a paraprofessional member of the multidisciplinary team provides patients with a variety of services as needed to fulfil their individual requirements and enhance comfort. accountable for keeping an eye on the patient, reporting their findings, and recording any care given.
What you will do in this role
- Performs personal care needs for assigned patient(s) and attends to his/her requests promptly. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the Hospice Director or Director of Clinical Services immediately
- Responsible for observing the patient and reporting these observations; documents observations and care performed
- Provides patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality
What qualifications you will need
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Additional education/training as required by the State
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Reliable transportation and proof of valid automobile liability insurance
- Must have valid driver’s license
